Optimum Nutrition for the Eyes

OPTIMUM NUTRITION

Eyes are very important senses for humans, for that we must guard it by fulfilling nutritional requirements. There are a few nutrients known to be useful for the optimal development of the eye and maintain eye health, namely:

Vitamin A is needed eye, to convert light into electrical signals for processing in the brain and maintain the growth of the lining of the cornea and conjunctiva. Sources of vitamin A found in breast milk, dairy products, eggs, green vegetables like spinach, and orange fruits such as carrots. If someone has deficiencies of vitamin A, beginning with the blind twilight, the eye patches, and eventually can cause blindness.
Taurine is required for the development of the retina from an early age. In the eye, taurine is widely available in the retina, mainly concentrated in the retina pigment epithelium and photoreceptor layer. The main source of taurine, there are actually many in breast milk, for that breast feeding for six months to two years is very important for the future development of child's vision. In addition to breast milk, taurine is also found in meat, poultry, and seafood, besides that milk formula can also be the choice as a source of taurine, but certainly these formulas contain enough taurine. Taurine deficiency can cause retinitis pigmentosa, a group of inherited disorders (inherited disorders) are characterized by sustained peripheral vision loss (a progressive peripheral vision loss), and difficulty seeing at night or with dim light (nyctalopia) which causes loss of central vision (central vision loss).
AA and DHA play an important role in the formation of the retina. Children aged 12 months who received AA and DHA levels had a vision of -20/28, while those who don't, the figure ranges -20/41 vision, meaning that children with DHA and AA have a vision sharper and clearer than who don't. So AA and DHA serves as the main component in the retina of the eye and to optimize the function of the retina. AA-DHA are found in vegetable sources of fat and fish. In addition to nuts and fish, breast milk is a source of balanced AHA and DHA.
Lutein can help protect your eyes from damage, especially retina by filtering blue light and also acts as an antioxidant by neutralizing free radicals. The outside of photoreceptors in the retina is the part that tends to easily affected because of the higher fatty acid peroxidation. The outside of the photoreceptors is high will lutein. Lutein acts as an antioxidant and provides protection to the eyes. Lutein is also found in breast milk and other food sources such as green vegetables and fruits yellowish.

Basically, all the essential optimum nutrition in the eye, there is breast milk. Therefore, you as a mother should be breastfeeding at the beginning of your child's life. And this is a provision for the future child's life to get perfect eyesight.
